Delete payments from bills

You may need to delete a payment if, for example, the payment was incorrectly applied to a bill.

Notes

  • If you delete a partial payment of an installment that resulted in a new installment being created, the application will also delete the new installment and add the value of the installment to the Amount Due field for the initial installment.
  • If this new installment has been paid, you will have to delete its payment first.
  1. In the Bills screen, do one of the following.
    • Select the bill to which the payment has been applied. In the Installments & Payments area of the Bills screen, clear the Apply payment checkbox, or click Edit payment and then Delete Payment at the bottom of the screen. Click Save to delete another payment for the same bill, or click Save & Close to close the screen.
    • Select the installment of the bill to which the payment was applied and click View Payment. In the View Payment screen, click Delete Payment at the bottom of the screen.
    Note: You can filter bills by date, status, and category in the Bills screen.
  2. At the prompt, click Yes.
