Delete financial accounts

You may want to delete a financial account if, for example, you do not use that account for your business or you have closed that account.

Notes

  • You can delete a financial account only if the account does not have associated transactions. If a financial account has associated transactions, you can make an account inactive.
  • You can delete a financial account only if the account is not being used to issue vouchers and has a status of Canceled or Paid. If you attempt to delete a financial account that is being used to issue vouchers and has a status of Canceled or Paid, you will receive a warning message.
  • You can delete the default financial account only if you first choose another account to be the default.
  1. From the company setup menu, choose Financial Accounts.
  2. Click the applicable account.
  3. Click Delete Account.
  4. At the prompt, click Yes.
