IBPT

IBPT refers to the approximate value of taxes that affects your invoice.

Its requirement was given through art. 2 of Law 12,741 / 2012, ensuring the clear and transparent display for all consumers of how much they are paying in taxes in Brazil.

OnBalance automatically inserts the explanatory text of the charges in your invoice, considering the inserted IBPT rate.

To define this rate for products or services, follow these steps.

  1. Open My Company.
  2. On the Invoice Setup tab, click the Invoice Setup button.
  3. Do one of the following.
    • For services, click Service Invoices Data, and enter the rate in the Service IBPT field.
    • For products, click Product Invoices Data, and enter the rate in the Product IBPT field.
  4. Click Save at the bottom of the screen.

If your company is registered in the National Simples, just enter the rate of the National Simples tax in this field.

If your company is registered in Presumed Profit, you must enter in this field a rate representing the sum of all your taxes and contributions, except the ISS tax.

Notes

  • Companies registered as MEI are not required to enter such information, since their taxes are not based on percentages and it is difficult to define the tax amount incident on each sale.
  • We recommend asking your accountant to perform this setup. Click here for more information.
