Adjust product information for inventory

You can adjust the current unit cost or quantity of a product to reflect accurate inventory information.

  1. From the company setup menu, choose Products & Services.

    Note: The name of this screen varies according to what your company manages in OnBalance. If you manage only products, this screen name is Products; if you manage only services, the screen name is Services; and if you manage both, the screen name is Products & Services.

  2. Click Adjust for the product you want to adjust.
  3. Click Save.

The new quantity and/or unit cost will be displayed immediately in the Products screen.

You cannot change or delete an adjustment. If you adjusted a product in error, you should make another adjustment to correct the error.

Notes

  • Although you can adjust the quantity and the cost in the same adjustment, you can also adjust just one of these items if you desire.
  • If you adjust the quantity of a product by entering a new current quantity, but do not adjust the number of acquired or sold products, OnBalance will retain this adjustment and consider the number of acquired or sold products.

    Example:

    • Product A has 23 units.
    • You enter an adjustment changing the units to only 20 units of product A.
    • OnBalance will store the adjustment in inventory history with content of "-3" (23 - 20 units) in the Quantity column.
